Apologies for not posting for a while - have been busy collecting - I know its early (or late) but I have already been asked for a number of driftwood Christmas trees - normally more rustic, I thought I'd see how they looked painted. This is a white chalk painted tree decorated with smaller reclaimed elm hardwood trees containing seaglass set in resin.
I have a large quantity of rough sawn elm and it is a time consuming process sanding the wood cutting the holes and then two pours of resin, setting the glass & some star fish (or whatever) in between each pour. Then follows 7 progressive sandings from 100 grit through to 1200 grit and finally brasso polish. If that all goes well I can then hand cut the tree or whatever shape decoration. Finally each decoration is drilled and fitted with a gold plated round link and fine hemp cord. I am considering a range of similar decorations including angels, stars, snowmen etc. - If anyone is interested or wants something specific please get in touch via contact page. Many thanks - probably £7.50 a decoration.
